The Hits Taranaki

The Hits Taranaki is a radio station in New Plymouth and Hawera.
The station began as 2ZP Radio Taranaki, which broadcast on 1053 am in New Plymouth and 1557 am in Hawera (as 2ZH). Around 1992, the station began simulcasting on 90.0FM which was previously occupied by its sister station 'Q90FM'. It was then known as '90FM Radio Taranaki' before becoming Classic Hits 90FM in 1993.
Previous breakfast host for 15 years, Barney (Brent Procter) retired from broadcasting on 20 December 2013.
In 2014, the station became The Hits Taranaki, and is based at the Broadcasting House on the corner of Powderham and Brougham Streets in New Plymouth Central. It is owned by New Zealand Media and Entertainment, and streams on iHeartRadio.
Local programming includes breakfast 6 am - 9 am with Adam Green and Eryn Deverson.
